Amritsar college of pharmacy provides diploma in ayurvedic pharmacy, a field of medicine which is growing in prominence from past few years. Ayurveda as an emerging field lays out a plethora of opportunity for young aspirants who wish to pursue their career in the field of Ayurveda. The program is an integrated study of Ayurveda as a field combining it with pharmacy. This course enables candidates to know about the chemical properties of ayurvedic medicines, the proportion, composition and the amount in which it should be taken by patients. They are instilled with the fundamental principles of Ayurveda and its uses in treating different ailments. It builds a strong base for those who wish to pursue a higher qualification in the field of ayurvedic pharmacy. We, focus on a curriculum that provides both theory and practice for the aspirants that primarily deals in drugs and its medications used in Ayurveda as a field of medicine. Apart from this, additional knowledge are rendered through seminars, discussions, case studies, and presentations.

The Amritsar College of Pharmacy (up-vaid) is recognized by Punjab Govt and Affiliated to Punjab State Faculty of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine Punjab, Mohali.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be passed 10+2 (Any Stream). The minimum age requirements is 17 years or more as December 31st of the year admission. The Duration of the course is 2 years.

Ayurveda is the oldest surviving complete medical system in the world. It is derived from ancient Sanskrit roots- ‘ayus’ (life) and ‘ved’ (knowledge) and offering a rich, comprehensive outlook to a healthy life. It enhances physical and psychological wellbeing, promoting longevity for the body as a whole. The knowledge of Ayurveda, it is said, was passed on by holy and learned via oral learning tradition, until it was collated into text form roughly 5000 years ago.

Ayurveda medicine is entirely based on herbs, which have certain medicinal value. And it has many solutions to cure number of health related problems and diseases. Most of herbs, thus formulated are free from side effects or reactions. This is the reason why Ayurveda is growing in the popularity across the globe.
